Path to Self-Awareness

Path to Self-Awareness explores the psychological and emotional transformation experienced during lockdown. Guided by the concept of isolation, the work traces a personal and collective journey from darkness and chaos toward tranquility and acceptance. The composition unfolds through four stages; echoing the seasons, emotional states of change (denial, anger, exploration, acceptance) and apocalyptic symbolism, mapping the evolution of the mind under confinement.

Executed on a 200 × 150 cm canvas, the painting transitions from black and grey tones into an eruption of color. The final stage incorporates fragmented mirrors, inviting viewers into self-reflection and confronting the reality of their own experience. Through color, gesture, and material contrast, the work visualizes how quarantine fractured, reshaped and ultimately healed both individual identity and shared human consciousness.
